He gained this power at a very young age (6) playing the "Persona Game" with his friends during one of their many play sessions together at a shrine. The "Persona Game" was a sort of ritual you played that apparently would reveal to you who your true love would be. For most people, playing the game wouldn't result in anything happening, just a fun spooky game to play with friends (think Bloody Mary in the mirror).

However, certain individuals would end up meeting a being called Philemon in a place called the Collective Unconsciousness, where all souls return after death to be reborn. Those able to recall their name (aka their Sense of Self) in that world were rewarded by Philemon with the ability to summon Personas. After which, they would also be able to see the Velvet Room (where Personas can be exchanged and summoned) run by one of his servants, Igor.

However due to a dramatic event shortly after his awakening, Eikcihi wouldn't use his Persona until he was in high school, incorrectly calling it a shinigami (death god) until the plot of the game is set into motion and he begins to use his Persona powers in full.

"Wild*" Card User (*Terms and Conditions Apply)
In modern Persona games, only the protagonists (and main rivals) have a wild card ability; that is able to summon multiple Personas depending on the situation while the rest of the team have a single evolving Persona.

However in the older Persona games, the entire party were also able to switch Personas. The cravat, unlike their later counterparts, is that they aren't of the "Fool" arcana, and therefore usage is tied to affinities for certain arcana, usually based on their personalities, sex and their main arcana (in Eikichi's case, Death). This would mean that using a persona that they have a bad affinity with, for example, would use up the magic a lot faster than a persona they have a great affinity with. For RP purposes, this would mean that Eikichi would attack once with a bad persona vs 5 times with soul Persona. Additionally, using a 'bad' affinity persona also makes them uncomfortable (think like having to wear wet socks, or hearing the sound of nails against a chalkboard). Certain Personas can't be equipped by others as well, which have the Worst affinity (for example, Eikcihi couldn't use Tatsuya's soul persona, Apollo).

Because the Velvet Room is unavailable, Eikcihi will come with 6 Personas that were used by his team (There are 10 persona slots in the game, shared between all 5 party members, so it would be his own persona and the five shared ones). Also note that some links link to the demon version, you may have to click on Persona next to it to get the Persona's stats.

Eikichi's Soul Persona Hades | Death Arcana | Affinity: Best
Odin | Emperor Arcana | Affinity: Great
Futsuno Mitama | Sword Arcana | Affinity: Great
Sarasvati | Coin Arcana | Affinity: Good
Hel | Death Arcana | Affinity: Great
Ebisu | Coin Arcana | Affinity: Good

Real World Persona Usage
Persona 1 and 2 both take place in the 'real' world, meaning the Persona summoning isn't done in an alternate dimension (Dark Hour in P3, TV World in P4 and Metaverse in P5). Additionally, Eikichi can summon his persona without the aid of a tool, he simply thinks about using it, and it appears behind him in blue glowing light.

Fusion Spells
A mechanic in Persona 2, fusion spells are combined attacks from two or more persona users that create various effects depending on what is used. Here is a list of possible spells.

For roleplay purposes, I'd like to go with the 'rule of cool' in the sense that I wouldn't want the spells to be overpowered, but more used in a storytelling manner. They are flashy attacks and they would be limited to be used with other Persona users (so basically Junpei right now lol) after Eikichi builds a rapport with them.

Demon Negotiation
The foes in Persona 2 are demons (and humans later) instead of shadows, and therefore have human-like emotions. Instead of fighting them, the Persona users can attempt to form a contract with them (a system that will later be reused in Persona 5 in a different manner). Humans can't be negotiated with.

Eikichi has 4 manners to negotiate:

- Self-Promotion (Bragging about how great he is, of course)
- Take Control (Call demons names and bring out his Boss aspect of personality by threatening them)
- Discuss Life (Cheer demons up and tell them that they aren't too bad! Life is great! Keep that smile babe!)
- Sing ( He performs a song...well attempts to sing anyway).

I list these here, as he may try to do this during the first few missions he is sent out with.

Persona User Durability
It's been implied (especially in the earlier games) that having Personas makes you more durable than the average human. This is, however, usually in retaliation to either other Persona user attacks or demons, so in a roleplay manner, it only makes him less likely to bleed compared to a non-powered human but he'd still feel pain.

It also allows someone like Eikichi to be the strongest physical fighter in his group, lifting his fellow classmates with no issue despite being incredibly thin and hating physical education to the point of skipping it.

Soul Persona Ability
Something that seems to be unique to Persona 2, their initial Persona (before evolving to their stronger forms) also bestow them a skill that is usable in real life. Eikichi's initial soul persona being Rhadamanthus, one of the three judges of the afterlife in Greek Mythology, allows him to more easily detect if people are lying (it is presented as a of 6th sense). However, it sometimes doesn't work and can backfire - for example because he was afraid of his father, he believed him when he said he knew 21 types of combat (this was a lie), and because of his ability, he created a self-perpetuating lie that it had to be the truth because he should know if it was a lie.

Roleplay wise, I would ask players/mods first.

Weakly Sensing Other Persona Users
In the later games, there are a few persona users who are 'navigators', meaning they don't participate in battle and work more from an analytic standpoint. They are usually able to sense other Persona users and speak with them via telepathy. In Persona 1 and 2, since there are no navigators, all Persona users have an innate ability to sense other persona users, but it is a very watered down version, all they can do is sense other Persona users if they are close by.

personality: In life, Eikichi "Michel" Mishina wants to take the center stage.

At first glance he seems self-centered, narcissistic and concentrated on wanting to leave his mark on the world. Eikichi, or as he likes to call himself by his band stage name, Michel, is someone that wants to be heard. Most of his speeches aimed to pacify demons are about how great he is, and how it's sin that he's too pretty to live. While most are content to walk among others and be avoided, Eikichi WANTS the eyes turned towards him. He doesn't wear just the normal school outfit, but colors his hair a bright blue to attract attention, and presents himself with a mixture of 1990s punk and Visual Kei influence, including heavy black makeup and painted nails, and white foundation over his face.

He's a visionary and passionate in all he does, both good and bad. True to his zodiac, the Scorpio, he can be thick headed and driven to accomplish his goals, no matter how hard or impossible the challenge might be. There are two very strong examples of this, first his dream of starting his own band, Gas Chamber, with himself as the singer. You know, despite the fact he is a terrible singer, but hey he's made an armband which he wears proudly.. He also completely changed his appearance, going from chubby, shy stuttering guy to the teenager he is today because he fell in love with a girl when he was young who said she hated who he was back then. That physical and mental transformation takes a special kind of dedication that's not present in many people.

Despite this, Eikichi's center is surprisingly much more delicate than he lets on, and in all those layers of egotism beats the timid heart of a young, caring child. Sure, he might be the (ex)Boss of his school, but he helped the students pursue their dreams and took care of them like his own brothers. However, Eikichi has thankfully been changing for the better by the end of the game, a merging personality parts of both his 'old' self and the newer, thinner him. Of course, old habits die hard no matter what, and he can still be a pain to others...and an idiot. He seems to run into bad luck many times, or just purposefully cause it.

In Persona, each character has a main persona assigned to them. Eikichi's Arcana is Death, a symbol of rebirth and change, and that is what he did from his childhood to who he is now. He does not look what you'd expect someone to have the Death Arcana to look like. Once you are marked as a friend, he will stick by you. Eikichi has a big heart and he wants everyone to succeed. When the situation seems dire, he, along with Maya, tend to be the ones who jump-start and motivate the group. Just don't push him around too much. He will grumble at times and act diva-ish, sure, but does do what others ask of him. He will also fighting someone just because they pissed him off. He is the comedic, whipping boy character, and therefore his luck and his own stupidity tends to put him at harm's way, much to the chagrin of others.

comments

He is the comedic, whipping boy character, and therefore his luck and his own stupidity tends to put him at harm's way, much to the chagrin of others.

samples:
https://etrayamemes.dreamwidth.org/6650.html?thread=10471674#cmt10471674 [TDM Post with Junpei]
https://etrayamemes.dreamwidth.org/6650.html?thread=10497786#cmt10497786 [TDM post with Adaine]

comments

HOWEVER, mods permitting, I think it would be amusing if he also arrives with the 4 other personas that belong to his friends - he won't be able to use them, but at least they'd be with him ;)

Eikichi's Soul Persona Hades | Death Arcana | Affinity: Great

Ebisu | Coins | Affinity: Great
Shiva | Chariot | Affinity: Good
Vishnu | Emperor | Affinity: Best
Arthur | Sword | Affinity: Great
Lucifer | Devil | Affinity: Bad (Gotta have one)

As mentioned before, if mods are willing, he'd also show up with Apollo (Tatsuya's Soul Persona) | Artemis (Maya's Soul Persona) | Venus (Lisa's Soul Persona) | Chronos (Jun's Soul Persona). All have the WORST affinity, meaning he cannot equip or use them, but they are there, to be used as plot fodder and drama.

They are flashy attacks and they would be limited to be used with other Persona users after Eikichi develops a rapport with them.

Roleplay wise, I would ask players/mods first and I assume the fae are able to lie or bend truth very efficiently, so he wouldn't detect something automatically.

Inventory:
- His phone (cia 1999 model, flip phone where typing takes forever)
- His wallet
- Yellow Owl Mask (The Phoenix Ranger Featherman mask that Eikichi wore 10 years ago and the catalyst to be able to summon his ultimate Persona)
- Legendary Aqua Case aka his Machine Gun in a guitar case that can also be used to smite people.
- A piece of broken mirror
- His band (Gas Chamber)'s armband that he made himself

Personality
Option 1: Answer the following questions. Elaborate on the answer, especially your characters thoughts and feelings surrounding the answer. For Canon Characters, you can choose four questions. For Original Characters, you will need to choose six questions. Keep the word count to 150-400 per question.

What mythological creature would your character most like to be? Which do they identify with? Which would they dread being? Feel free to use our Bestiary for reference.

In a way I feel it's cheating considering his personas (a judge of the dead and the Lord of the Dead himself), but Eikichi would be either a shinigami (if we talk his world's mythology) or a Nagual (if we go by the game's dictionary). Thankfully it's also a case of what a character wants to be matches with who they would most likely be. If you'd ask him, he'd also add that he wants to be a good looking animal if he's to become a nagual.

The role of a protector/death mythological creature actually fits him very well; Eikichi is the (ex)Boss of his school, a self-appointed title where he acts like a cross between a protector to his fellow students and private policing of delinquent students. Granted, he did bully the bullies, but if anything it fits with how Naguals are, and he did learn to grow out of this issue in the game. When he stepped down from being the Boss, his fellow students feel lost without his guidance and he promises to help them regardless. Another party member remarks that he's the type of leader people should aspire to be, the 'real deal.' Additionally, he's not above beating up or fighting back if he needs to protect those that he loves. When Lisa (one of the party members) gets slapped by the main game's villain, he goes mad with rage and tries to attack him on his own (he fails, but the thought is there). This personality trait is so deeply ingrained to him that in the game's sequel, the other reality's Eikichi, without having access to a Persona thus being just a normal, powerless human, still goes into a research facility to save the school's bully despite him hating his guts and trying to kill him because he feels it is his duty as the school's Boss.

On the other hand, there's a blanket response to who he would dread being; anything that doesn't look good or pretty (he wouldn't mind at all being a female monster, as long as he looks good). Realistically, one of the worst creatures would be a Havhest; along with the fact it's made of an unholy combo of an ugly horse and fish (he really, really hates fish, the look, the smell, the large fish eyes), the fact the creature seems to be purely animistic scares me deeply and makes him uneasy. Eikichi needs a goal in life, just existing as a creature to either hunt or be hunted down frightens him.

If your character could ask for one wish, and it's going to be magically granted without any consequence, what will it be and why?

Eikichi wouldn't even have to think about it.

The second he'd get this offer and knew it was in good faith, he'd ask for himself and his friends be able to keep their memories intact once the new reality was established without a penalty to reality. It is a rather selfish wish and he knows it: the 'Innocent Sin' of them meeting as children and playing together was subtly manipulated by Nyarlathotep (the game's big bad) in order to cause a cascade of events for ten years leading the world to ending (literally). For this new reality to exist, Philemon explained that their initial meeting has to be erased from reality itself, meaning they won't get to remember their friendships and the hell they experienced together. They are told that there is no other choice and that remembering what happened or refusing to let go could cause grave consequences to the very fabric of reality (which is seen in its sequel when the protagonist can't bring themselves to do it). For the greater good, they have to accept it or stay behind the old reality and the broken world.

At the time, Eikichi did accept this rule, right before he was whisked off to the Court instead of a new reality that had been promised. At the time, it seemed like the only way to fix things and become the unsung heroes, but each passing day means he has time to properly reflect on the choice and how unfair it is. With each day, it becomes harder, and, ironically, his memory still intact yet not being to see them causes him to long for them more.

If there's one person your character would follow to another realm, who would it be and why? If there's no one, state that and explain why.

That's actually initially a hard question because Eikichi would be perpetually stuck choosing between one of his friends, his big sisterly figure, Maya, or his girlfriend, Miyabi who he changed his entirely personality in order for him to be the man of her dreams (while meanwhile she felt so guilty she ended up becoming plump that neither recognized each other at first when they met again ten years later).

Eventually, however, he'd go with Miyabi, assuming that his friends and Maya are able to take care of themselves. The line would be very very thin, however with Miyabi being mere inches above everyone else. That being said, Miyabi shaped who Eikichi is and was. She was the only person who liked him as Eikichi Mishina the shy, stuttering fat six year old kid and also the self-proclaimed visual kei musical god Michael. Now that both of them have actually confessed to each other their crushes, defeated Eikichi's shadow and kissed (with LOVE lighting up above their head), he'd follow her to the realms of hell if he needed to. Losing her and her not being in this world is going to affect him for the first few months, at the very least. Something he'd worked up for ten years, that ended in success and then removed right under his feet? It hurts. A lot.

What is your character's most outstanding personality trait, and why?

Self-Narcissist. Which at first might seem like a very very negative trait, (and for many reasons, it is), but as with many things in Persona, it is actually a facade that he keeps up publicly to protect himself. It's also used for comedic purposes, because Eikichi does not have a mute button and questions about his image are dealt with swiftly (and stupidly).

The narcissism started when he was much younger; Eikichi was a shy kid bullied due to his weight and stutter. The only person he liked was even forced by other children to tell Eikichi that she hated him. Instead of giving up, he changed his life around, as befitting a character with the Death arcana, decided to undertake a new start in life and drastic personality change. As he grew older, he lost weight and developed a rock-star image that he presents himself with to the point that people who knew him as a child would never recognize him now. Everything is about image, telling people how he's the best at something, how good he is, and thanks to his Persona, there is some truth to it. Eikichi knew what was the best for his school as the Boss, and with his powers, no one could really tell him no or try to stop him. He even embraces a musical visual-kei look and renames himself Michael instead of his real name in school, all the more to perpetuate his greatness. This, however, still masks that same shy kid with a low self-esteem; the narcissism is, in a way, a 'fake it til you make it' part of himself that he hasn't made it completely. It also contrasts heavily with how much he cares about others, and how unexpected it is for the same guy to say how beautiful and amazing he is to also want to take a bullet for you, but then complain that said bullet grazed his face and ruined his makeup and oh gods his day is ruined!

Thankfully, that indulgence towards himself also isn't a greed to have more or a trait that would directly harm others - it makes him irritable with how he deals with things, but Eikcihi is more of a protector than anything else.

He just knows what's best for you.

🦋 Fae Court

List your top three choices for your characters adoptive court. The mods will choose the one out of those three options that seems the most fitting based on your app.

The Autumn Court

The Dawn Court

The Summer Court

Ability:
3) Yes, but they either have no ability of their own, or they refuse to trade theirs away; they will buy their court's ability on credit.

🦋 RP Samples

TDM Here

comments

Eikichi, or as he likes to call himself by his band stage name, Michel (remember the name well, babe), is someone that wants to be heard. He is not just someone to pass by on the street, oh no, he is meant to be seen, and he will do this with utter flamboyancy worthy of a true diva. Most of his speeches aimed to pacify demons are about how great he is, and how it's sin that he's too pretty to live. While most are content to walk among others and be avoided, Eikichi WANTS the eyes turned towards him. He doesn't wear just the normal school outfit, but colors his hair a bright blue to attract attention, and presents himself with visual kei influence, including heavy black makeup and painted nails, and white foundation over his face. You can't help but stop and stare and he'll be happy to turn around so you can get the best of his profile.

You know, despite the fact he is a terrible singer, but hey he's made an armband which he wears proudly. But no worries, he'll figure it all out and they'll become world-famous soon enough! No one can tell him otherwise. He also completely changed his appearance, going from chubby, shy stuttering guy to the teenager he is today because he fell in love with a girl when he was young who said she hated who he was back then. That physical and mental transformation takes a special kind of dedication that's not present in many people. Especially when you love food so much as a kid.

He's imposing. Standing at 6'1" which is tall for a typical sixteen year old Japanese teenager (the tallest Persona user so far in the series), and is still growing. He's done his share of hand fighting, although Lisa, another teammate, easily beats him in that department all the times they butt heads. Many will find themselves intimidated by him - it is even a demon contract option where he tries to take control by calling them 'biatches' and if they 'think demons are the shit' they have another thing coming. The strength of the Scorpio-born is in their determination, passion and motivation and Eikichi is, for the most part, all of this. He is the head Boss; usually, his word goes when he gives it.

And yet, don't let appearances deceive you into thinking he's just that! Like the rest of his teammates, Eikichi's center is surprisingly much more delicate than he lets on, and in all those layers of egotism beats the timid heart of a young, caring child. Sure, he might be the (ex)Boss of his school, but he helped the students pursue their dreams and took care of them like his own brothers. He didn't tolerate bullying on anyone (granted he bullied the bullies, which is just as worst, but he realizes this in the game). He has three friends that are his "bros" that he is very close to and they have a code of conduct at how things should be run. Once he remembers Lisa, Jun, Tatsuya and Maya, his caring for his old friends is reborn anew.

Due to his history, there will always be a part of him still remains that shy, fat uncertain kid that Michel desperately tried to bury down to become the man that his crush, Miyabi, would like. He hides it behind the self confidence, but the walls could fall down, should he be crushed enough to have that happen. When it does, its not uncommon for Eikichi to start stuttering.

For all the caring deep down, he did also lose himself along the way into teeenagehood. A show-off and inflated head, it is hard to take him seriously at first. However, Eikichi has thankfully gotten much better at genuinely changing for the better, a merging personality parts of both his 'old' self and the newer, thinner him. Of course, old habits die hard no matter what, and he can still be a pain to others...and an idiot. He seems to run into bad luck many times, or just purposefully cause it.

Say what you will about him, but Eikichi also has excellent micromanaging skills - he was able to keep an entire school's worth of male delinquents in check with a combination of his Persona, his charisma and his ability to lead crowds.

His greatest fear is his father and he hides from him his 'bad boy' tenancies - his old man doesn't even know that his son goes to school putting on makeup, dyes his hair blue and makes modification to his outfit every day. If you see Eikichi at his father's restaurant, you will find someone passive, quiet and dressed traditionally - a complete turnaround from his school image. Thankfully, events allowed him to overcome that obstacle, face a golden clone of his father and Eikichi 2.0 (his words in the game) emerged.

He tends to get the short end of the luck stick with his friends. His love for Miyabi hasn't changed one bit either. He really does love her unconditionally, and it is the root of why he changed in the first place.

And yet nothing will be able to stop him from saying he is god's gift to the world. Perhaps his positivity, even if it is sometimes comically misplaced, is his greatest asset after all. He is the comedic, whipping boy character, and therefore his luck and his own stupidity tends to put him at harm's way, much to the chagrin of others.

POWERS/ABILITIES:
Persona Summon Ability: Unlike the newer games, all characters in Persona 2 are 'Wild Cards' meaning they can equip the different arcanas. HOWEVER unlike the modern wildcards, only certain Arcanas work better than the others. In Eikichi's case, Death (his main), Strength, Hanged Man, Cup and Sword. It does not mean he cannot equip the others, but that they will be more powerful if they are in his stronger arcanas. If you are familiar with Jojo, Personas in Persona 2 function a lot more like stands, appearing out of a user by sheer force of will, and can materialize in the normal world.

Main Persona: Each character has a certain Persona that is also their 'main', the one that is both their Arcana and the closest to how they are. In Eikichi's case, it is Hades. Hades is pretty much as effeminate as Eikichi, wearing a death metal wedding dress. When he is equipped with him, Hades bestows upon Eikichi immunity to water, light and dark attacks, but he is weak to fire. I tend to play this up with him having issues due to heat (he sweats and he canonly hates sweating), and so on.

Malaques | Deal medium Water damage to an enemy group.
Mamudo | Deal instant Dark kill to an enemy group.
Marin Karin | Deal Mind charm ailment to one enemy.
Zandyne | Deal high Almighty damage to one enemy.
Malaquadyne | Deal high Water damage to an enemy group.
Bloody Honeymoon | Deal high Water + Light damage to all enemies. May confuse.
Dark Verdict | Deal high Dark damage to all enemies. May instantly kill.

Secondary Persona: Eikichi will be bringing along three other Persona;

Vishnu
Maragion | Deal medium Fire damage to an enemy group.
Icy Fury | Deal low Sword + Ice damage to all enemies.
Bufudyne | Deal high Ice damage to one enemy.
Diarahan | Recover full HP for one ally.
Hamaon | Deal instant Light kill to all enemies.
Megidolaon | Deal high Almighty damage to all enemies.
Magarudyne | Deal high Wind damage to an enemy group.
Stiti | Recovers all HP and bad status, except for berserk and dying. Works on all allies.

Abe no Seimei
Summon Spirits | Deal Almighty mute ailment to all enemies.
Dream Needle | Deal low Thrown + Nerve damage to one enemy. May sleep.
Hamaon Deal instant Light kill to all enemies.
Magic Seal | Deal Almighty mute ailment to one enemy.
Tetrakarn | Reflect one physical attack for one ally.
Grydyne | Deal high Almighty damage to an enemy group.
Mamagnadyne | Deal high Earth damage to an enemy group.
Pressure Needle | Deal instant Thrown kill to one enemy.

Futsuno Mitama
Straight Slash | Deal medium Sword damage to one enemy.
Tetrakarn | Reflect one physical attack for one ally.
Blade of Fury | Deal medium Sword damage to all enemies.
Alpha Blaster | Deal persistent Light damage to all enemies.
Freidyne | Deal high Nuclear damage to all enemies.
Thunderous Fury | Deal low Sword + Elec damage to all enemies.
Makarakarn | Reflect one magical attack for one ally.
Hamaon | Deal instant Light kill to all enemies.

Fighting Ability: Eikichi is the strongest character in the game. You'd think he'd punch people in the face (which he has done in the game), but no, Eikichi fights with a weapon that is extremely non-traditional.

It's a guitar case.

Does he whack people with them? Nah. The guitar case is just a ruse, it's really a giant machine gun. It's the perfect incognito weapon that never seems to run out of bullets ~*magic*~.

INVENTORY:
• Summon | Persona: Hades
• Summon | Persona: Vishnu
• Summon | Persona: Abe no Seimei
• Summon | Persona: Futsuno Mitama
• Weapon | Guitar Case
• Item | Yellow Owl Mask

MOONBLESSING:
Iris

▶ SAMPLES

TDM Post
Thread in another game

comments

Eikichi Mishina - Owner, Boss, Chef, Wyvern Cat Lady

(Team list will be modified as more names are added below)

WORKING FOR EIKICHI

Working for Eikichi is usually a non-stressful affair - as he works on the idea that if he leaves, he won't take the money back with him, he is very generous both in basic salary and just being a friend to those who chose to work there. Borrowing money is simple as asking him - as long as you don't abuse or be an asshole, he'll give as much as is asked.

There's just a fine line you have to be careful of not crossing.

As long as the spa makes money, everyone else does too. Everyone gets the same salary and Eikichi emphasizes for everyone to work together as much as possible. In a way, the spa works as a cross between split profits and with a money pool for emergencies and to keep operations afloat.

People who are rude to his staff are dealt with quickly. Due to his ability to tell when people are lying makes it easy for him to figure out who is the guilty party, and he can be quite merciless if someone was particularly cruel.

GETTING A JOB

We can either thread it out or if you spoke to me, add yourself to the list below!

It's been over a year, and you know what this means...BLIND DATES! Well sort of. It's both Blind & Friendship Dates, where friendship and new CR will bloom! This time, Fall will be celebrated.

The IC date for this event is TBA but should take place late this month or early next month.

❤ THE IN-GAME SETUP

Vernes has a lot of things that were damaged during the fighting. In the hopes of fixing things, Eikichi is going to set up both a DATE AUCTION for people who want to be auctioned off for a date and also a BLIND DATE ACTION for those who want to be paired up for a date with someone. It is a setup for Eikichi to help the 'Visitors' know each other a little more. He's had great experience with the spa and the friends he made before his 'world' friends showed up - he wants to extend that to others and hopefully create lasting friendships.

He'll be posting a network post announcing his intentions once hew arrivals show up. There will be a box left at the spa's entrance that characters will be able to submit names for both the blind date and date auction, and also to leave donations.

On the day of the event, Eikichi will send out invitations, along with a picnic table number that he'll set up close to the spa.

What happens after the initial setup is entirely up to you! Eikichi's goal this time isn't just helping the Arehtei and raising funds to help out everyone, but also making sure that the people who arrive have stronger bonds despite not coming from the same places.

❤ WHAT WILL HAPPEN (OOC) FOR THE DATE AUCTION

Once the week of signup happens, characters will be able to bid on characters that have signed up. The signups are kept secret so that it is a surprise! Characters should obviously bid as much as their character IC would have, but try to let everyone have a chance at bidding (especially if you play a Rich character)

❤ WHAT WILL HAPPEN (OOC) FOR THE BLIND DATES

The event is for players to gain new CR. Note that for this event, cross canon CR is the main goal, so the 'dates' will attempt for you to end up be with fellow cast members.

The signup is 100% randomized!
For randomization, I still want players to still get something meaningful and fun for them. You'll be able to input what type of character you want to be paired up with. Say, for example, that your character would get into a fight with a character from another canon or you already have some negative CR, MENTION THIS TO US! You'll also be able to tell me if you want to AVOID certain characters, for example, if you know interacting with character X would end up in a battle/they already hate each other/it would be a bad time for you as a player, let me know! Additionally, if you have any other issues regarding situations that can't be mentioned (we can't all 100% get along, so if you absolutely need to avoid a player, for example), please make sure to send me a PM to let me know.

All comments will be screened to keep up the surprise of who signed up, but you will be free to talk about it on plurk or discord if you like! The mystery will be kept until the second arrival to the date so please look forward to it!

❤ SIGN UPS LIMITS

You can sign up all of your characters, and mix and match if you want to do randomized or setups, and the cutoff day for both auction and blind dates will be SEPTEMBER 14TH 11:59PM EST.

Note that if we hit an uneven number in a category, I'll set up a few tables of three. If that happens to your group, you'll be warned.

comments

JUN KUROSU (黒須淳)

Jun Kashihara is a senior in Kasugayama High School who Maya meets in the Air Museum in Eternal Punishment. When the building is set on fire, he takes charge of the rescue effort, finding the teachers and determining how many children are still trapped in the building.

However, if you contact the demons for rumors, they're confused. They make the curious suggestion that the "boy in blue" had been their master in the past. And to add to the confusion, the serial killer Tatsuya Sudou seems to know Jun quite well, and keeps calling him "the chosen one." Jun is confused and frightened, but when Sudou threatens to kill Maya and Tatsuya, Jun suddenly loses it and shoves Sudou into a pit. One might also wonder why he's the very last person to be saved at the end of the game, and why Tatsuya reacts so oddly to him.

Jun is the most pivotal character in Innocent Sin, that's why!

PERSONALITY

Jun is a cold, calculating person, who knows how beautiful he is and manipulates people with it. He's idealistic, and wants to help people achieve their dreams, but his means of doing so are questionable at best. (He likes humanity in general, but not people in particular, so, a few people more or less in the world doesn't particularly bother him.) He is generally not a warm, welcoming person; he's introverted and reacts violently when threatened. At the same, he's gentle and kind to his friends, and very protective of his surrogate mother-figure and his doppelganger.

I guess the moral of this story is to make sure that you're on Jun's good side.

Jun has several typically feminine interests that cause people to underestimate him. He cooks, cleans, and is prettier than his female friends if he's forced into makeup. Another big thing is his love of flower language and fortune-telling. In Japan - and in the US, really - horoscopes and astrology are incredibly feminine things to do. Despite this, he's actually kind of a dangerous person to piss off. (He's a bit like Hazama from SMT if... in several ways, not the least of which is the character design. Megaten tends to reuse certain character types, but I'm not complaining!)

RELATIONSHIPS

...with Maya Amano Maya is his surrogate mother-figure, since his biological mother ignored him most of the time. He is, as you can see, psychotically protective of her.

...with Lisa Silverman According to Lisa, Jun used to be the one who would comfort her when she was teased about being a foreigner. Although they now have Tatsuya to catfight over, they probably still get along all right. Although...

...with Tatsuya Suou Maya called Jun and Tatsuya doppelgangers. She explains that although they don't look alike, but their differences draw them together irrevocably, like a person and their shadow. They certainly have some kind of close relationship; Jun can even sense how Tatsuya's persona is feeling, not just his own. (And that's very unusual.)

Actually, if you think about it, Jun and Tatsuya are pretty similar in personality, once you strip away the girly things that Jun does. They're both quiet and introverted and detached and cool towards most people. The difference, I think, is that Jun actually is concerned with what people think of him; he's worried that people will hate him for what he did as the Joker. Tatsuya doesn't seem to care one way or the other. Those two share a kind of wordless understanding of each other; Tatsuya can go "......" and Jun will say, "Of course, I know." The demons seem to find this interesting, especially the beast ones.

"Mysterious, mysterious! The big one says nothing, and the little one understands. Humans are interesting!"

If you want to know the "official word" on the matter of Tatsuya and Jun, here you go. (But remember, Tatsuya is shaped by the will of the player, so take that as you will.)
HISTORY

As a kid, Jun's parents were fighting all the time, so he spent a lot of his free time at the Alaya Shrine, where he met Tatsuya. Later on he met Eikichi and Lisa and Maya, and together they played a game called "Phoenix Ranger Featherman" in which they wore bird masks. Jun was the Black Falcon, and seemed to actually have been the leader of the little group, which he dubbed "the Masquerade." His best friend was Tatsuya, the Red Eagle, and they hung out together a lot outside of the shrine. At one point, they exchange mementos; Tatsuya gave Jun his father's watch, and Jun gave Tatsuya his father's Zippo lighter, which was inscribed with the charming engrish proverb "Being the most important can't be seen in the eyes." (What that means is really "The most important things can't be seen with the eyes." That's a quote from Jun's favorite book, "The Little Prince." Jun got the book from his father.) The two of them have kept those keepsakes to this very day; Tatsuya's always flicking that damn lighter, and if you look at Jun's character design, you can obviously see the watch he's wearing.

As Jun's homelife got worse and worse, he started lying to the other kids about his father, since everyone had heard the rumor (from Junko) that Mr. Kashihara was a lazy no-good bum, and Jun didn't want his friends to make fun of him for having a "shitty dad." He was torn between his love for his gentle, weird father and the urge to impress his friends, so he'd tell them that his dad was really cool and smart, but wouldn't let them meet his father. When Mr. Kashihara finally came to pick Jun up one day, Maya asked if that was Jun's father, and Jun lied and said that Mr. Kashihara was his uncle. Jun also hated his mother, and said that he wished Maya was his mother. Jun has one hell of an Oedipal complex *laugh*

At some point, Jun's father dies (suicide? accident? or was he murdered?) by being crushed in the clock gears in the Sevens clock tower. From then on, Nyarlathotep - in the form of Mr. Kashihara - comes to pick up Jun from Alaya. Everyone thought that Jun's papa was so cool now, and he WAS - because Nyarly was taking the form of the ideal father that Jun had wished for. It's sort of a case of rumors/dreams becoming reality, as is the norm in Sumaru City. After Alaya Shrine was burned down, Jun's persona power was awakened (Maya had taught all the kids how to play the game "Persona") and he became tortured with guilt over his "role" in "Big Sis's death." He helped Lisa and Eikichi hide the masks in Mt. Iwato and forced himself to forget about what had happened.

Moving on. Junko basically abandoned him after Kashihara's death and chased after a bunch of younger boyfriends, so Jun became a complete latchkey kid. At school, kids would try to pick on him for being so pretty and feminine, and Jun would retaliate with his Persona, badly injuring the bullies. Because of this, he was sent to Kasugayama High School, which is a school for delinquent boys. But even so, he had such a bad reputation that even the juvenile delinquents were scared when he arrived! But Eikichi checked Jun out, determined he was "harmless," and promised to "protect him." (ha!)

Jun enters Kasugayama High School about three months before the game starts, and became the Joker only a few weeks before. Jun is being manipulated by Nyarlathotep into fulfilling the prophecies laid out in the book In-La'kech . Jun wants to make people's dreams (their "ideals") come true, and according to the book, the way to do that was to lead people to the utopia called "Idealian." To reach Idealian, he had to collect "Ideal Energy" - the energy of people who have hopes or dreams - and use it to raise the alien mothership under Sumaru City. This alien mothership was known as Xibalba, and the ones aboard Sumaru are the "chosen ones." (Yes, this really is the plot. Remember that Jun was insane at the time, so this made sense to him.) The appearance of the Last Battalion and Hitler was also predicted in In-Lak'ech as a sign that the rising of the Xibalba was near.

So Jun spread the rumor that by dialing your own cellphone number, you'd be able to summon the "Joker," who would make your dreams come true. This was a convenient way to target people with Ideal Energy, right? When he was summoned, he stole the caller's Ideal Energy with a crystal skull, turning them into a Shadow Person. When he was summoned by Lisa and Gas Chamber, he recognized Eikichi, Lisa, and Tatsuya as the rest of the Masquerade that he'd played with as a child - and his memories were so twisted that he believed them responsible for Big Sis's death. He got confused about the past, and decided to kill them for killing Big Sis.

Jun was trying to recreate his childhood Masquerade group in the new Masquerade in a couple of different ways:

1. Older woman/mother figure = Queen Aquarius
2. Male musician = Prince Taurus
3. High school girl = Lady Scorpion
4. Lighter-flicking "Tatsuya" = King Leo

or, another set of parallels:

1. Junko Kurosu = Jun Kurosu, both Aquarius
2. Anna Yoshizaka = Eikichi Mishina, both Scorpio ("Yoshizaka" (吉栄) is just the kanji for "Eikichi" (栄吉) reversed)
3. Ginji Sasaki = Lisa Silverman/Ginko, both Taurus ("Gin" means "silver" in both names)
4. Tatsuya Sudou = Tatsuya Suou, both Leo (their names aren't written alike at all, but there's an obvious similarity).

So Jun was trying to make people's dreams come true by collecting Ideal Energy to raise the Xibalba and take the people to Idealian. To spread the necessary rumors, he himself took In-Lak'ech to Kismet Publishing to get the book published and make it available to more people. Part of the prophecies in In-Lak'ech involved the ressurection of the rumored Lost Battalion and Hitler, and the Nazis also wanted to raise Xibalba and make their dreams come true. So a kind of war erupted between the Masquerade and the Nazis after the raising of Xibalba; in the chaos Queen Aquarius was killed protecting the Joker. Queen Aquarius hadn't realized that her own son was the Joker until he said something along the lines of "Father's prophecies were true!" and I guess she felt a final maternal twinge towards her son. Jun also was unaware that his mother was Queen Aquarius. He loved/hated his mother, and thought his mother hated him.

The Nazis stole the five crystal skulls, and the Joker turned his attention towards battling Tatsuya and his friends, who had come to rescue him. Being the Joker and Nyarlathotep's pawn had erased most of his memories, and twisted the ones that remained, so he drew upon Nyarlathotep for the hatred and anger necessary to defeat his friends. But, of course, Jun finally regained his memories and was reunited with Maya and Tatsuya. ("That lighter...you kept it all this time?" "Of course.") Nyarlathotep appeared in the form of Mr. Kashihara to try to regain control of Jun, but Jun told him to piss off, and Nyarly stripped away Jun's Joker persona and disappeared.

Now Jun rejoined the rest of the childhood Masquerade, gaining Yukino's ability to summon Persona. Of course, now he's feeling really guilty, and most of the rest of the game is reassuring him that he's not a horrible person, just, er, misguided. He still carries around his own bucketful of Issues, which become extremely apparent in Xibalba, where your nightmares come true. Maya has to basically provide spot therapy, usually by appealing to his feelings for Tatsuya:

MAYA: If you disappeared, you'd leave Tatsuya all alone!
JUN: ....okay....
TATSUYA: ...*flicks lighter*
JUN: Tatsuya...

Finally he confronts his past, admits that Akinari Kashihara was his father, and tries to convince Maya Okamura not to carry out the full prophecy in In-Lak'ech. She doesn't listen to him, of course, and Maya Amano is killed in the final battle as a human sacrifice.

Afterwards...well, who knows? On the Other Side, Jun has no family left, and the world outside of Sumaru City is destroyed...

FUTURE
Unknown! He wasn't mentioned on the TV in Persona 3.
FLOWER LANGUAGE (ACCORDING TO JUN)

Iris: revenge
Scarlet Sage: I'm always thinking of you
Baby Blue Eyes: I forgive you
Thoroughwort: Remember that day
Michaelmas Daisy: Remembrance
Yarrow: War
Raspberry: Deep regret
Sweetpea: Departure
Primrose: Hope

Jun uses a crapload of "hanakotoba" - flower language. If you look up Japanese flower language, you'll notice that Jun's meanings don't match up! As far as I can tell, he's using some weird bastard variant of French flower language, because in most flower languages, for example, "iris" does NOT mean "revenge," it means "deep affection." So when he throws an iris at Tatsuya...

TRIVIA

His blood type is AB. There's a track on the drama CD when he compares the astrological compatability between himself and Tatsuya, and when he doesn't get the answer he wants, gets angry and switches to blood type (love) compatibilities. Again, AN EXTREMELY GIRLY THING TO DO. Jun also starts cackling when he finds out that he and Tatsuya have extremely good (love) compatibility according to this and starts humming insanely to himself, disturbing Lisa. "Fortune-telling AGAIN?"

I really wish everyone could listen to (and understand) the Tsumi drama CD, "The Errors of their Youth." It's hilarious, bizarre, and occasionally somewhat dirty. Translations of some of the tracks are on the music page. The characterization of Jun in this drama CD is totally yandere. It's funny - although kind of disturbing. RUN, TATSUYA

Jun is always skipping school to run his own little cult, so in the game, you hear about the "mysterious new student" from the Kasugayama students. He also runs away from home (where does he live? Caracol? Maybe...) and starts sending postcards to radio shows to spread rumors (in advice programs, the DJs read the postcards out loud).

The Joker is like a Persona; he can summon his costume, instead of having to duck into a bathroom and change or something.
<h3 style="margin: 0.8em 0px 0.2em; (In this game all the kids wore masks, so they never saw one another's faces.) He was a chubby, shy boy who stuttered a lot and liked to draw manga. He was always clumsy and dorky when they played together, but he loved his friends because playing with them allowed him to be someone else, someone who could do what he enjoyed without being teased for it. He also loved the middle-school girl, Big Sis, who came to play with them, and he was devastated when Big Sis announced that she was going to move away and couldn't come play with the Masked Circle any more. Eikichi, Lisa, and Jun decided that if they locked Big Sis in Alaya overnight, she couldn't leave them. When Tatsuya protested, they locked him in with her, and left, intending to return the next day and let them out.
When the three returned the next day, Alaya had been burnt to the ground, so they thought they had killed Big Sis and Tatsuya! Horrified, the three remaining children hid the five Masked Circle masks in their hideout in Mt. Iwato and went their separate ways, forcing themselves to forget what had happened.

FUTURE
According to the lounge TV on 11/16 in Persona 3, Eikichi ends up training to take over the sushi shop. (A young man in his twenties with blue hair and a guitar case, whose birthday was the day prior.)
TRIVIA

Eikichi lives in a sushi shop, but he hates sushi (his hatred of sushi is based on Kazuma Kaneko's hatred of sushi and all kinds of seafood.)

His school uniform is blue because Kaneko wanted a different color than the Sevens and Hermelin uniforms, so he picked the "color of spring" (blue) for KasuKou. ("Kasugayama" = "Spring Day Mountain")

He has an after-school job in a "live house" - a club with live music.

With his makeup off, he unfortunately looks just like his dad.

Eikichi's dad would throw a fit if he knew how Eikichi dressed, so everyday Eikichi sneaks out of his home, goes to a public restroom, dyes his hair blue, puts on his makeup and modifies his uniform, and then goes to school. On the way home, he reverses the process (although how can Kankichi not see his black nail polish?) and Kankichi is apparently oblivious to his son's daily transformations. (Eikichi's mom doesn't seem to mind; she's apparently the type who'd go, "My, my, isn't that nice!" and smile.)

EIKICHI MISHINA (三科栄吉)

Eikichi is the infamous "Death Boss" of Kasugayama High School, the boys' school for juvenile delinquents. He's called that partially due to his reputation as a badass, and partially because he assumed that had the unique ability to summon a reaper to help him fight. (His first summoning call is "Let's go, Shinigami!" instead of the usual "Persona.") He claims to protect the weak from bullying in Kasugayama, and is both feared and respected at both schools. However, he's also picked up the unfortunate nickname "Undie Boss", due to his habit of pantsing his defeated enemies.

The most distinctive thing about Eikichi, besides his narcissism, is his visual-kei style: pale, flamboyant, with a lot of makeup and rings and jewelry. (That thing Eikichi wears isn't a skirt, by the way - it's a long "tunic" under his uniform top.) With visual kei, the look and style is FULLY as important as the music. Basically, it's the least-traditional thing around...so Eikichi is stuck as the very modern son of a very traditional sushi chef.

Eikichi also uses a LOT of "Engrish" in the Japanese version of the game, because English is "cool". Unlike Ellie, who is presumably fluent and uses English words in roman letters, Eikichi's speech is peppered with random english phrases in katakana: "MAI SUIITO SUIITO HANII", "OKEI EBURIBADII", "MAI FURENZU", "BEIBII", and so on. In the English version of the game, he uses French for the same reason.

Eikichi is loud, brash, and emotional, in contrast to the quiet, reserved Tatsuya. Eikichi is always loudly declaring what he feels about a situation or a person. He's always fighting with Ginko because, really, they're more alike in personality than either would like to admit. Eikichi's narcissism isn't really because he thinks so highly of himself - he's actually very sensitive and has a very low self esteem, so he overcompensates with his "super-cool rock god Michel" act. He's trying to become the complete opposite of how he was when he was a little kid - fat, shy, and dorky - so he overreacts when anyone reminds him of how he was.

Eikichi, despite his tough reputation, is probably the nicest guy in Tsumi. He's incredibly devoted to his friends and will do anything to help them, and he blames himself if anything happens to them. For example, when Ginko is upset and depressed, he does his best to cheer her up and says he's there for her. In Tsumi, Sugimoto was a Boss Fight because he kidnapped Miyabi. But in Batsu, Eikichi breaks into a lab and risks his life to save Sugimoto, just because Eikichi is the school Boss and he feels that it's his duty to take care of all his classmates, even the annoying ones who want to kill him.

He has a band called Gas Chamber, whose logo he personally designed and wears around his left arm. The other band members are his childhood friends Shogo, Ken, and Takeshi, and they practice in Sumaru Prison after school. Eikichi's always ranting about how awful they sound, and Ken meekly reminds him that they haven't played instruments since they were kids - but Eikichi still thinks they'll have their big "debut" soon. (In Japan and other parts of Asia, indie bands have their "debut" at a "live house" - a club with live music. That's how you climb up the ranks to stardom, but there's this terminology specific to that part of the world.) He, of course, claims that his lyrics and vocals are good enough on their own to make the band famous.

RELATIONSHIPS

...with Miyabi Hanakouji In elementary school, a lot of kids made fun of Eikichi for being a fat, stuttering nerd who liked to draw comics. Pretty, popular Miyabi Hanakouji was his best friend, so the other kids got jealous of him and pulled down his pants in front of Miyabi. To add insult to injury, Miyabi told him she hated fat people (via peer pressure). His ego was essentially squished into the sidewalk by this double-whammy, and he underwent a massive weight-loss/image makeover program. He became a vegetarian and worked out to lose the weight, and he started dressing like a visual rock star and kicking people's asses to erase the image of him as a chubby, shy loser. To get revenge on the people who embarrassed him in front of Miyabi, he'd pull down the pants of everyone he beat up.

But he didn't recognize Miyabi when he met her again; she was fat and went by the nickname "Hanaji" in Japanese (nosebleed - a pun on her name "Hanakouji" and a reference to the curious event when she got a nosebleed in the girls' locker room) or "Kozy" in English (again, a pun on "Hanakouji") and didn't tell him her real name. Even so, he kind of liked her, and wasn't at all upset to find out that she was really Miyabi, despite the teasing he got from Sugimoto. Miyabi, however, now felt unworthy of him.

...with Kankichi Mishina Eikichi's dad is a sushi chef at the Gatten Sushi. Eikichi is terrified by his very old-fashioned dad, especially because Kankichi pretends that he knows 18 forms of martial arts - "including capoeira!" Eikichi knows his dad won't like his visual kei interests, and knows that his dad wants him to take over the Gatten Sushi one day, so he lives in fear of his dad kicking his ass.

...with Lisa Silverman His most interesting relationship in the group is with Lisa. They are ALWAYS at each other's throats, insulting and yelling at each other. They even gave each other insulting pet names - Ginko calls him "Undie Boss" and he's the one who nicknamed her "Ginko" ("Gin" = "silver", as in her last name, and he knew she'd hate a Japanesenickname). But, despite their constant bitching and fighting, they're always the first to leap to each other's defense. Eikichi frets and worries when he knows Ginko's alone with a possible Masked Circle Executive - Prince Taurus - and wants to run and rescue her, but Tatsuya stops him. Likewise, Ginko's the one who really wants to jump in and stop Sugimoto from beating Eikichi up, but, again, Tatsuya stops her. I really like them together; they bring out aspects of each other you wouldn't see normally. Without each other, Ginko would probably seem like an annoying Tatsuya-obsessed fangirl, and Eikichi would seem like an annoying egotistical poseur. So their relationship is really important in that sense; it fleshes out their characters.

...with Tatsuya Suou Eikichi basically views Tatsuya as his rival - they're both tall, skinny, good-looking guys. Tatsuya also can play the guitar! And Eikichi has a band! How convenient!

...with Jun Kurosu Apparently when Jun entered Kasugayama, rumors quickly spread about this scary transfer student who would seriously maim you if you picked a fight with him. Eikichi, as the self-appointed leader of the students, went to check out the new kid, decided that he was "harmless", and promised to "protect him". Hee!

While most are content to walk amongst others and be avoided, Eikichi WANTS the eyes turned towards him.

Abilities:
Persona Summon Ability: Unlike the newer games, all characters in Persona 2 are 'Wild Cards' meaning they can equip the different arcanas. HOWEVER unlike the Persona 3 and 4's protagonists, only certain Arcanas work better than the others.

Secondary Persona: Eikichi can use four personas, along with his soul persona, Hades: Vritra, Satan, Laksmi & Fuuma Kotarou

It's the perfect incognito weapon that never seems to run out of bullets (probably magic. Definitely magic.)

Contacts
This may not be something really used here, but it's a fun to mention; Persona has 'Contact' system where the characters try to speak with the demons instead of fighting and forge contracts with them. This is based on a system where they can try four options and hope that the demons will respond in a positive way. In Eikichi's case it is:
- Self-Promotion (Bragging about how great he is, of course)
- Take Control (Call demons biatches and bring out his Boss aspect of personality by threatening them)
- Discuss Life (Cheer demons up and tell them that they aren't too bad! Life is great! Keep that smile babe!)
- Sing (...Sing. well attempt to sing anyway).

This could be used for comedic purposes, as is with most of his life in general, so I figured I would list it here.

Alignment: Aiada.
It's a tough one to pick <strike>Eikichi is a rainbow</strike>, but really, Aiada represents a lot of what Eikichi can be and what drove him to his current personality. Appreciation for himself, he could easily argue, despite sometimes being envious of others. His desire to be worthy and appreciated by others is what drives him the most and what turned him into what he is today, and there's no doubt a lot of envy of wanting to be more fuels his pigheadedness.

Other:
Eikichi nicknames Lisa in the game and called her Ginko. Immediately, the game adjusts and Lisa's name is Ginko everywhere for the rest of the game. Now that's power.
Uh also they fought Nazis and a rumor-resurrected Hitler that turned out to be the eviliest of evil Nyarlathotep. In the PSP remake he had sunglasses. Good times.

comments
