There is loud.
Then...there is Michel. Eikichi Mishina "Michel".
Self-centered, narcissistic and wanting to leave his mark on the world, Eikichi, or as he likes to call himself by his stage name, Michel is someone that wants to be heard. He is not just someone to pass by on the street, no no, he is meant to be seen, and he will do this with utter flamboyancy worth of a true diva. Most of his speeches aimed to pacify demons are about how great he is, and how it's sin that he's too pretty to live. When Eikichi walks somewhere, he will be seen. While most are content to walk amongst others and be avoided, Eikichi WANTS the eyes turned towards him. He doesn't wear just the normal school outfit, but colors his hair a bright blue to attract attention, and presents himself with visual kei influence, including heavy black makeup, bright red painted nails and white powder over his face. He has an armband that has the sign of his music band Gas Chamber and while
Persona 2 makes heavy influences at how a character's astrological sign and card arcana are important, and being a Scorpio, it makes him extreme and intense. Eikichi is power, which isn't too hard to see considering his stature at 6'1" which is huge for a typical sixteen year old Japanese teenager (and is still growing since he's only 16, oh god). A mighty fine brawler (although not quite like Lisa, another teammate), many will find themselves intimidated by him - it is even a demon contract option where he tries to take control by calling them 'biatches' and if they 'think demons are the shit' they have another thing coming. The strength of the Scorpio-born is in their determination, passion and motivation and Eikicih tries to be all of this. He is the head boss, and for the most part, his word goes when he gives it.
Did I mention the ego? The ego.
And yet, he's not that much of a bad guy..really! In fact like the others on the team, Michel has a much softer side that is locked deep inside and comes out when he's more comfortable. Sure he might be the boss of his school, but he helps the students pursue their dreams and takes care of them like a worrying mother hen. He doesn't tolerate bullying on anyone. He has three friends that are his "bros" that he is very close too and they have a code of conduct at how things should be run. Due to his history, there is a part of him still remains that shy, fat uncertain kid that Michel desperately tried to bury down to become the man that his then-crush, Miyabi, would like. For all the caring, show-off and inflated head, his self-esteem is surprisingly low. This is due to his past memories. However, Eikichi has thankfully been getting better especially after remembering his past memories and trying to change for the better and become the bestest man, but old habits die hard no matter what.
Say what you will about him, but Eikichi also has excellent micromanaging skills - he's able to keep an entire school in check with a combination of his Persona, his charisma and his ability to lead crowds. He implemented a system where teasing was not tolerated and helped a lot of the students find their own courage. Granted, he was starting to stray from this path when Tatsuya and the others got to him - so warped in his ideology that Eikichi was turning into the very type of guy that had teased him as a kid. Thankfully, this was cut short when rumors said someone else was more powerful than him, and after facing his foe and giving him a good whooping, he realized what he'd been doing.
His greatest fear is his father and he hides from him his 'bad boy' tenancies - the old man doesn't even know that his son goes to school putting on makeup, blue hair and his outfit every day. If you see Eikichi at his father's restaurant, you will find someone passive, quiet and dressed traditionally - a complete turnaround from his school image.
As Philimon once said, 'we all wear masks' and Michel just happens to be an excellent visual example of this fact. his Arcana is Death, a huge symbol of rebirth and change, and that is what he did from his childhood to who he is now. Yet once you are marked as a friend, he will stick by you. Eikichi has a big heart and he wants everyone to succeed. When the situation seems dire, he, along with Maya, tend to be the ones who jump-start and motive the group. Just don't push him around too much. He will grumble at times, sure, but do what others ask of him. Don't tell this to the others either, but one of his secret wants is still, despite all these years, to get everyone around for a drawing circle, their current age be damned. His love for Miyabi hasn't changed one bit either. He really does love her unconditionally, and it is the root of why he changed in the first place.
And yet nothing will be able to stop him from saying he is god's gift to the world. Perhaps his positivity is his greatest asset, after all.
Backstory:
All you need to know about him.
Eikichi will be taken right before the Scorpio Temple. IN the Velvet Room, Igor says something about having to go train somewhere and before he can protest, Eikichi is flung right into Smash Academy.
Anything Else?:
> Don't let Michel start a band (He will start a band)
> He will also attempt to take over the school and be the BOSS. He is doing this for the good of all and helping everyone!
>He has Persona Powers!
☠ PERSONA ☠
All characters in Persona 2 are Wild Cards meaning they can equip the different arcanas. HOWEVER unlike the Persona 3 and 4 protagonists, only certain Arcanas work better than the others. In Eikichi's case, Death (his main), Strength, Hanged Man, Cup and Sword. It does not mean he cannot equip the others, but that they will be more powerful if they are in his stronger arcanas. Unlike the later incarnations, there is no need for a gun or a card to call upon them, the Personas come out by sheer force of will.
The entire list of available Personas are here.
They also have a 'Main' persona. In Eikicih's case, it was first Rhadamanthus, a judge of the dead that Eikichi called DEATHBRINGER (because it's totally metal), later due to his own resolution, he was changed to the lord of the dead himself, Mother fuckin' Hades. Hades is pretty much as effeminate as Eikichi, wearing a death metal worthy wedding dress and speaking with female pronounce when he can. But he speaks with a voice that sounds totally like VINCENT PRICE. HE IS AWESOME.
When he is equipped with him, Hades bestows upon Eikichi immunity to water, light and dark attacks, but he is weak to fire. (His hair, especially much to his greatest woe. ;_;)
Powers:
The Wild Card ability allows Eikichi to summon Personas of the different Arcana. Because he is from End Game, he has all of them available, but I will be using Hades mainly. Hades likes to talk a lot!
♏ Weapon
Eikichi weapon is extremely non-traditional and also very Eikichi-like. At first view, it can pass off as a guitar case. Not just ANY guitar case either, but the Legendary Super Case.
Does he whack people with them? HELL NO! Inside is a gear system powered by rumors and some magic that turns the guitar case into a MACHINE GUN. Yes. That's right. Michel carries a guitar case that is actually a giant machine gun.
And you wonder why he has a huge ego?
♏ Negotiations
Persona has a Contract option where the characters can speak with the demons and forge contracts with them. This is based on a system where they can try four options and hope that the demons will respond in a positive way. In Eikichi's case it is:
- Self-Promotion (Bragging about how great he is, of course)
- Take Control (Call demons biatches and bring out his Boss aspect of personality by threatening them)
- Discuss Life (Cheer demons/pokemon/people up and tell them that they aren't bad and there is HOPE AT THE END OF THE RAINBOW OF LOVE!)
- Sing (...Sing! ...well attempt to sing anyway).
Moreover, because of the high Pokemon population he WILL try to recruit them to his team. Or at least hope they give him something.
Of course when all fails, MACHINE GUITAR GUN and Personas are there to save the day.
